The CDs and vinyls which can be found in the Music Department are called sound media.The sound media collection consists of 3200 CDs and 6200 vinyls, i.e. LPs and singles. The department has 90 musical DVDs, too.
All the materials, either in analog or in digital format are loanable for the circulation fees given.
Listening to music on the spot is only available for patrons with a library card.

The call number of a musical CD or DVD is shown in the on-line catalogue. The call nubers start at Z CD 1 and Z DVD 1. ("Z "comes from the Hungarian word "zenei" that means "musical").
In the show-case you can only find the boxes of the CDs and DVDs, organized by call numbers from Z CD 1 for CDs and from Z DVD 1 for DVDs. To loan a medium, please select the box of it and take the box to the circulation desk in the ground floor. There you can receive the CD or DVD matching the box.
Vinyls are retrivable only by the card-index available in the card-chest. To search the card-index, find „Hanglemez katalógus” (Vinyl card-index).
The call number of a vinyl is shown in the card-index. Write the call number (e. g. B 172) found in the upper left-hand corner of a card and give it to the special libarian. He or she will fetch you the vinyl wanted from a store.
In the case of listening to music on the spot, you have to loan the sound media at the loand desk, but you cannot take them home. To listen to them or to watch them, retrun to the Music Department and use the CD or DVD players found there.
