Not only the books, but also the periodicals are important for local and regional history. Periodicals have been reviewed by librarians in charge since 1956.  County-related publications dealing with local and regional history, local and regional economy, e.t.c, were progressed in a "regional card-index" until 1992.  The newspaper articles progressed between 1956 and1992 can be found in a normal card-index, but selections have been made from them more than once during the years and these were published by the library as books.  Between 1992 and 2001, the references to the articles were collected in a database called "Card" and based on the software"Textar". From 2001 on they have been registered in  „Corvina” Integrated Library System.

The newspapers and periodicals containing those articles can be found partly on the open shelves of the Local and Regional History Department, partly in the warehouse. To call for one in the warehouse, please fill in an application form and give it to the special librarian.  Of the newspaper articles published after 1945 and in good condition, you may have made a photocopy,  may take a picture or may have them scanned for a fee, determined in Rules of Use

To find an article on our catalogue, please use advanced search. Go to "type" and then select "article" in the roll-down menu. Our system does not contain subject headings in Hungarian, so if you chose "SU5J" (subject heading) or "SU6J" (local history subject heading) in the roll-down menu, your search will have no results.  To avoid this, please search by title, author, ISBN, ISSN, UDC or publisher. If you would like to search by subject headings, please contact the librarian.

Besides books and articles, also studies play an important role in local and regional history research. Therefore we process studies published in different books, too, so that they can be retrived as well as books. If you would like to retrive a study, please select "study" at "type"  and then  enter  author's name or title of the article.  Studies can be used on the spot or photocopied,and there are loanable copies of them in another departments, which can be loand as determined in our Rules for Use.
